Since graduating from Ohio State in 2012, Cory Leslie has shown his prowess in Mile races, winning the 2015 Camel City Mile presented by Salem Sports (3:56.99, a North Carolina state record) and in 2013, the Camel City Indoor Mile (3:57.81, a North Carolina indoor record), Blue Shoes Mile (3:56.18), Glenn Cunningham Mile (3:58.18) and Morton Games Mile (3:55.85, personal record) and the 2012 RunRhody.com Exeter / West Greenwich Mile (3:58.98, Rhode Island's first outdoor sub-4 and State outdoor record). His 3:56.18 clocking at the Blue Shoes Mile also established a South Carolina State record. He also ran a sub-4 time at the 2012 Falmouth Mile (3:59.17) to place 6th.

While at Ohio State, Leslie earned First Team All-American honors in both the steeplechase and the distance medley relay (2012) and Second Team All-American honors twice in the indoor Mile (2011-12). The Buckeye also holds the Ohio State indoor Mile record, 3:56.85, at the PSU National meet in 2012.
