The inaugural Recharge Road Mile at Jackson’s Corner Eastside on Saturday, October 3 was a blast! Even though it turned out to be a chilly and windy fall day, that didn’t stop everyone from having fun and running fast times. Our top three racers had an intense battle all the way to the line with Thomas Morgan crossing first followed shortly by Ryan Bak then Jared Bassett in blazing fast times of 4 minutes, 31 seconds, 4:33 and 4:34. Thomas Morgan is an Olympic Trials qualifier with a personal best of 13:27 for 5K, and he showed his race savvy over the home stretch where position became key in the men’s race. Competition was fierce going into the final turns with pro runners Bassett and Bak jockeying for position, but Thomas navigated the turns and put on the last burst of speed to clinch the victory!
