Inaugural Reno Mile

The inaugural Reno Mile will be contested on Virginia Street in downtown Reno on Saturday morning, September 8 and is part of the inaugural Reno Running Festival presented by Hometown Health.

Event schedule:

  • 9 Age Group Heats (8:30-9:50am) - timed: Participants register for this heat and run in their age group (11 & under to 70 & older)
  • Elite Mile Heats (10:00am) - timed: If you are a male who can run a 5:30 minute or faster Mile or a female who can run a 6:00 or faster Mile, please register for the Age Group Heats and submit your time to eric@race178.com by 09/01/18 to be considered for the Elite Mile men's or women's heats.
  • Awards Ceremony (10:15am)
  • Fun Mile Heat (10:30am) - untimed, registration required.
  • Dog Mile Heat (11:00am) - run with your crowd-friendly pooch on a leash, untimed, registration required. First place male and female human runners will be recognized.
  • Reno's Main Drag Dash for kids 11 & under (11:30am) - approximately 50 yards, untimed, no need to register.

Overall top 3 men & women by gun time will be awarded gift certificates from Reno Running Co.: $125, $100 & $75. In addition, Reno Mile participants will receive a commemorative coin and post-race refreshments.

On the out-and-back Mile course, participants will run under the famed Reno Arch twice.

The Reno Mile also is a BBTM Featured Event, showcasing America's best Mile events.
