Centrowitz, Cain Highlight Millrose Mile Fields
Pro men, high school and college women to be featured at Feb. 16 meet.

The two elite Mile races at the Millrose Games will have different types of fields, but both should be among the February 16 meet's highlights.
The men's field is heavy on pro runners, headlined by Matthew Centrowitz. He won the bronze medal at 1500 meters at the 2011 world championships and placed fourth in the event at the 2012 Olympics. His last race in New York City, site of the Millrose Games, was successful, as he won the Fifth Avenue Mile in September. Centrowitz has told race organizers he would like to chase the event record of 3:52.87, set by Bernard Lagat in 2005. Lagat set his mark when the meet was run on a short, banked, hard track inside Madison Square Garden. As of last year, the meet is held at the Armory, which has a modern, eight-laps-to-the-Mile track, making Centrowitz's goal a little more possible.
