The Guardian Milepresented by GOH Run is a community one Mile race across one of Cleveland’s most iconic landmarks, The Hope Memorial Bridge, with a spectacular view of the city skyline and raucous crowd support. The World Athletics-certified point-to-point course is challenging but unique, featuring a first half that is mostly uphill before a fast descent all the way to the finish.
For the 5th edition, there are 5 race heats: Youth & High School, Community, Masters 40 & older with the two Monticello Associates Elite Heats, the showcased finale (8:00pm). The guaranteed prize purse totals $22,500, going 6-deep in the Elite race ($4500, $2500, $1500, $1000, $750 and $500) and $300 Community Heat winner & $200 Masters winner per gender. In addition, there is a $500 Elite prime for the first runner to cross the halfway mark (determined by spotter, must finish the race).
The Community Mile will also include the Fleet Feet Cleveland Team Challenge (three members to score with their times added together, and the fastest team total time wins).
The Guardian Mile is a BBTM Featured Event, showcasing America's best Mile races throughout the year.
