At the second Kansas Road Mile Championship, there will be a $3400 prize purse (Open & Masters) and age group awards every 5 years from a 19-24 group up to 75-plus. With a total of 7 races, there will be a race for all ability levels and ages from youth up through some of the fastest Milers in the country in the Elite races.

The event, a USATF State Championship, will take place at Towne East Square on a USATF certified course. The course is a fast single loop with no 90 degree turns.

Mile legend and Kansas native Jim Ryun returns to his hometown of Wichita as a featured guest and the 1968 Olympic 1500m silver medalist will also be a honorary starter and awards presenter at the event.
