2024 INFO BELOW (2025 info will be similar)
In addition, Mile legend and Olympian Steve Scott returns to introduce the Elite & Open Mile races, give out awards and will also warm up & run with the kids in the Youth 5K and Youth ¼ to 1 Mile races.

Competitive adult races include the Open Mile, Masters Mile, Elite Mile, Dog Mile and Adult 5K. Elite athlete summary info HERE. Elite athlete contact: dianedaruty@sbcglobal.net

Spirit Run Mile races offer a guaranteed $2300 prize purse: Open = $1800 ($400, $300 & $200 per gender plus time bonus of $300 for each man finishing sub-4; each woman sub-4:30) and $500 Masters ($125, $75 & $50 per gender).

After the Masters & Elite Mile races, there is also a 5K with a $1000 purse ($250, $150 & $100 per gender).

Competitive youth races include the Youth 5K (high school & younger), five 1/4 to 1 Mile races for ages 4 to 18 and Dog Mile for age 13 & older. Adults and children may also register for the "Combo" to race their age appropriate 5K and Mile races.

Elite, Open, Masters, Youth and Dog Mile races take place on a fast, point-to-point USATF certified course that begins with a subtle incline for a ¼ mile than it's downhill to the finish line. Spirit Run’s 5K course is pretty swift too, also ending on a decline. Go to newportspiritrun.org/schedule-maps-directions to view complete schedule and course & elevation maps.

All race finishers - adult, youth and canine - receive a "Spirit" medal at the finish line.

In between the walking & running events, participants and spectators enjoy a Youth, Fitness & Dog Expo with food & beverages, live music, massage and shopping for adults, youth activities, health & fitness information, adoptable dogs, dog products and more.

The net proceeds of this long-standing community event benefit youth education, fitness and other youth causes. Schools and other youth charities sign up to fundraise with Spirit Run. You may credit your entry and make a donation to your favorite one when you register for Spirit Run (but are not required to). You may also create an online Spirit Run giving page and invite friends and family members to donate to your participating school or charity.

The Spirit Run Mile is again a BBTM Featured Event, showcasing America's best Mile races throughout the year.
