Hillsdale College’s Emily Oren Headed to Nationals in the Mile
Sophomore seeded second heading into this week's NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships at Winston-Salem, N.C.

HOLLAND, Mich. – Emily Oren stood at the starting line at the national championships and felt out of place. As a freshman at Hillsdale College, Oren was overwhelmed by the situation.
As a sophomore, one thing has changed for the Hamilton native — her confidence.
Oren is coming off the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title in the Mile and is seeded second heading into this week's NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships at Winston-Salem, N.C.
Oren won the race in 4 minutes, 55.84 seconds — four seconds off her personal record.
"It was really relieving," Oren said of her GLIAC title. "I was stressed out about it before. I knew it was something I really wanted and was capable of. I wanted to prove it to myself that I actually was capable."
