HSer Sam Worley so close to sub-4 at Texas Relays

New Braunfels Canyon senior and University of Texas signee Sam Worley ran the #11 all-time fastest high school boys Mile in the Jerry Thompson Mile on Saturday at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas, winning the elite field in 4:00.61.
Worley and fellow Texas high schooler Reed Brown, of Southlake Carroll, were the only two prep athletes accepted into the Jerry Thompson Mile field. Brown finished fourth overall in 4:03.23.
In taking the win, Worley outkicked some of the best in the business, including 2012 Olympic silver medalist Leo Manzano, who finished third in 4:02.02, and University of Texas sophomore Alex Rogers, who was second in 4:01.65.
UTEP's Jonah Koech was sixth in 4:03.75.
