Scholar Athlete of the Week: Corey Pilson
4:38 high school Miler has 4.7 GPA: "School comes first so if I have a really really big test I might skip practice to go study"

For Rutherford Senior, Corey Pilson, a simple visual is all the motivation he needs to run.
"I really don't like people in front of me so if I can limit the amount of people in front of me than that would be great," said Corey.
There are not a lot of people in front of him when he runs the Mile.
"My time for the Mile right now is 4:38," said Corey.
He uses that same mentality in the classroom.
Not many peers are ahead of him with his 4.7 GPA while in the IB program.
He said his GPA is so high because he puts school ahead of everything else.
"School comes first so if I have a really really big test I might skip practice to go study," said Corey.
Unlike most athletes he actually uses his homework to take his mind off his sport.
