Sir Peter Snell honored by US Sports Academy with Distinguished Service Award

Sir Peter Snell has been honoured by the United States Sports Academy with a Distinguished Service Award following his lifelong career in sport and in the classroom.
The award is given annually to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to national or international sport through education, research, or service.
Snell, who was voted New Zealand's Sports Champion of the 20th Century, is regarded among New Zealand's finest Olympians.
As a teenager he attended high school in the small town of Te Aroha. Snell excelled at a number of sports, including tennis, badminton, rugby, golf, and middle-distance running.
