Cole Hocker won the 2024 USA 1500 indoor title in 3:37.51, a meet record, indoor PR and fastest indoor 1500 at altitude (Albuquerque, NM), earning a Team USA berth for the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, where he earned the 1500m silver medal in 3:36.69. In April at the LA Grand Prix, Hocker ran a 5000m PR and Olympic standard time of 12:58.82, placing 11th.

At the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Hocker defended his 1500m title, shattering the Trials record in 3:30.59, also a PR, and earning a trip to the Paris Olympics.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, in the greatest 1500 ever, Cole impressively won the gold medal in an Olympic record of 3:27.65, and #7 all-time.

In 2023, he finished third at the USA 1500m Championships, clocking 3:35.46 to earn a Team USA berth to the World Championships in Budapest this August (where he finished 7th in a personal record of 3:30.70). At the Bowerman Mile, he placed 6th, setting a PR of 3:48.08, #4 American all-time.

In 2022, Cole finished second in the Windy City Invitational Magnificent Mile in Chicago, setting a personal record of 3:50.35, #4 U.S. indvidual all-time indoors, and in February, he won USA Indoor titles in the 1500m (3:39.09, meet record) and 3000m (7:47.50). Returning from injury, in December, he won the USATF Club Cross Country Championship crown. On April 23, 2022 at the Oregon Relays, Hocker ran the third leg on the 4x1 Mile Relay (3:57.31) and the Duck Track Club produced the second fastest time ever in 15:52.05.

The rising U.S. star won a thrilling 2021 U.S. Olympic Trials 1500 meters, setting a personal record of 3:35.28 and beating reigning Olympic champion Matthew Centrowitz to qualify for his first Olympic team. In Tokyo, he finished 6th in the 1500m, clocking a PR of 3:31.40. In September 2021, Hocker signed with Nike, becoming a professional runner.

Also in 2021, the University of Oregon freshman captured three NCAA titles: Mile & 3000m (indoors, a rare double) and 1500m (outdoors). In February, he clocked a Mile in 3:50.55, the second fastest collegian, #8 individual indoors all-time and PR at the time; his teammate Cooper Teare won the race in 3:50.39.

The 2018 Foot Locker Nationals cross country champion also won Indiana state titles in cross country, 800m and 1600m.

FUN FACT: Cole Hocker is the first Foot Locker Cross Country champion (2018) ever to win an Olympic gold medal (Paris 2024)!
