The Morning Mile that began as Fionnula's Girl Scout project is now helping children fight childhood obesity in Minneola, Florida.

At just 11-years-old, Fionnula Mendoza is a veteran of 5K and 10K races throughout Lake County and Central Florida.
Fionnula and mom Katie Mendoza are members of a running club that fitness expert Fitz Koehler, president of Fitzness International LLC, belongs to as well.
So when it was time for Fionnula to pick a project for earning her Girl Scout Silver Award with Troop 9567, fitness seemed like, well, a good fit.
Fionnula decided to raise funds to support The Morning Mile, a program developed by Koehler to fight childhood obesity in as many Lake County schools as possible.
