City of London Mile links up with London Athletics
Partnership aims to promote running in the capital; inaugural event features 5 heats and historic route though heart of London

Londoners are being encouraged to sign up for the City of London Mile as the event has partnered with England Athletics region London Athletics to help promote running in the capital.
Held for the first time in the year which marks 60 years since Sir Roger Bannister ran the world’s first sub-4 minute Mile, the City of London Mile comprises five heats: the Family Mile, Youth Mile, Corporate Mile, International Mile and the City of London Mile which is open to everyone.
Now confirmed as one of London Athletics’ approved events, the City of London Mile, to be held on Sunday, June 22, will cover a one Mile course following a historic route taking in Mansion House, the Bank of England, Guildhall and St Mary-le-Bow Church, as well as part of the London Olympic Marathon course.
