Registration is still open as the final details are being ironed out for the Solvang Mile, a fun run through the streets of Solvang that will take place Saturday, Oct. 6.

The race, which organizers are hoping becomes an annual event, will begin and end on Copenhagen Street as athletes of all ages and skill levels chase their fastest Mile.

The morning will begin with age group races, followed by the fast action of the Men’s and Women’s Open Mile and the Fun Mile. All the events in the morning will lead up to the main event, the Elite Men’s Mile.

Registration will remain open through Thursday, Oct. 4, at www.active.com. The Elite Men’s Mile will include a crew of sub-4 minute Milers and USA Track & Field team representatives.

Among those competing will be A.J. Acosta (best Mile of 3:53), Peter van der Westhuizen (3:54), Christian Hesch (3:58), Tommy Schmitz (3:58), Jon Rankin (3:56) and Ben Bruce (4:00).
