The tradition of the downtown Raleigh 1 Mile road race continues with the Oak City Mile on Hillsborough Street on Sunday, September 13, 2015.

The event includes the Men's Mile Race at 2:00pm and the Women's Mile Race at 2:20pm. Both races start and finish on the Hillsborough Street railroad bridge just east of Glenwood Ave. 

The Oak City Mile is the USATF NC 1 Mile Road Race Championship with a $2300 prize purse. The event is expecting an excellent elite field competing for the USATF prizes, both the Men's and Women's races are open to everyone with "Open" race awards (overall, Masters, and age group) provided by Runologie on Hillsborough Street.

Stay for a post-race celebration at State of Beer (on HIllsborough Street next to Runologie).

The race benefits the 501(c)3 non-profits: MS Events and ALS Association Jim "Catfish" Hunter chapter and the fight against neurological diseases.

The Oak City Mile is a BBTM Featured Event, showcasing the best Mile races across the country.
