The Navy Mile on Pennsylvania Avenue presented by USAA is a DC community event that kicks off the United States Navy birthday celebrations. The 4th edition is the finale of the Bring Back the Mile Grand Prix Tour 2018 and offers $15,000 in Open prize money.
By participating in this race you will be supporting the Naval Sea Cadet Corps, Safe Harbor Foundation and Navy Memorial. You will run for fun and for a great cause! This road Mile will also feature some of the top world class runners in the United States and from all around the world. Come see the nation's avenue as never seen before!
This race is for everyone in the entire family. There are categories for every age and after the race, everyone can partake in the post-race expo on the grounds of the Navy Memorial Plaza.
The push-up contest also returns, done concurrent with the Mile heats. Proceeds support the Navy Safe Harbor Foundation.
2018 PRIZE MONEY & AWARDS Elite Awards
The top five elite male and female runners will receive the following cash awards: Champion: $3000, runner-up: $2000, 3rd place: $1250, 4th place: $750 and 5th place: $500
In addition, there will be a $1000 bonus if the winner goes sub-4:00 (men) or sub-4:35 (women).
Sea Cadet Team Awards
The top three Sea Cadet teams also receive cash prizes: $500, $350 and $200.
Age Group Awards
The top five female finishers and top five male finishers in each of the age groups receive Potomac River Running gift cards: $200, $125, $75, $50 and $25.
Wheelchair & Paralympic Awards
The top five wheelchair and the top five paralympic finishers also receive Potomac River Running gift cards: $200, $150, $100, $50 and $25.
