The Michigan Mile presented by ATI Physical Therapy, kicked-off the HealthPlus Crim Festival of Races weekend with an exciting Friday night opportunity for all ages and ability. The Michigan Mile, with an overall event purse of $20,000, also featured a Professional Men's Mile and Women's Mile with a $10,000 prize purse.

The professional Mile was the fifth stop on the inaugural Bring Back the Mile Grand Prix Tour 2014. This year, the event is again hosting the USATF Masters Road Mile National Championship.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – (September 12, 2013) – The inaugural Bring Back the Mile Tour 2013, showcasing 14 events nationwide, produced exciting Mile racing throughout the year including the Tour finale at the Minnesota Mile on Sunday, September 8 where Americans Ben Blankenship and Gabriele Anderson shattered course records, clocking 3 minutes, 52.7 seconds and 4:21.3, respectively, and running the fastest Miles ever in Minnesota. Crim Michigan Mile Racing series draws big crowd, elite runners to downtown Flint

FLINT, Mich. -- A pair of former University of Minnesota track stars took home top honors at the first-ever Crim Michigan Mile Racing Series Friday evening, Aug. 23, downtown Flint.

Ben Blankenship won the men’s division of the Professional Mile by nearly a photo finish, sprinting ahead down the stretch to finish with a time of 4 minutes, 5.59 seconds, edging Jack Bolas and Nathan Brannen. Following shortly was Heather Kampf, taking the women’s Professional Mile title in 4:47.27. Each race champion earned $2000.

FLINT, Mich. – The Crim Fitness Foundation has announced a new date and course for the Michigan Mile. The event, part of the 2013 HealthPlus Crim Festival of Races, is set for Friday, August 23 following the Lois Craig Invitational of the Michigan Special Olympics.

This date change will make it easier for more runners and walkers to participate in this increasingly popular event that features the only “Block M” medal for race finishers. The Mile race welcomes athletes of varying fitness levels, from competitive high school and collegiate track athletes to those just starting to run or walk.
