Hootie 5K Champion Supports the Mile
If you're unfamiliar with the Hootie 5K, it is an Aggies Running Club tradition dating back approximately 30 years. It traditionally occurs in Eugene, OR as part of any National Championship or Olympic Trials that occur at historic Hayward Field. Deemed a "people's race", it is completely free, friendly and FUN. The 2012 edition featured starter, Craig Virgin, a two-time World Cross Country Champion and three-time Olympian.
This year's winner, Jakob Lindaas (Moorhead, MN / Harvard University), had first choice of a number of great prizes and chose the limited edition 3:59 "I AM THE MILE" t-shirt as his own. Smart kid. Thanks!
