I Feel Robbed of Nine Meters
Thomas Bennink of Rock Hill High School in South Carolina recently joined the Bring Back the Mile movement and in the "What does the Mile mean to you?" section left us a comment that grabbed our attention. His thoughts are why we started the national campaign. If you'd like to share your story you can do so by becoming a Mile Maniac - click on the Join the Movement button above right.

I attend Rock Hill High School in South Carolina and I am a member of our Cross Country and Track & Field team.
I feel robbed of the nine meters that I do not get in the 1600 meter race.
When people ask me my Mile time I have to tell them my 1600m PR because my school does not offer the Mile and I feel deceitful or feel like I'm just giving myself the extra couple seconds. My 1600 PR is 4:41 and I plan on running 4:20 this year, which Is my junior year.
This is my favorite event and I would l would love to have the extra nine meters. BRING BACK THE MILE!
